Wellington Zoo

Wellington Zoo – The best little zoo in the world, has around 500 animals from endangered Sumatran tigers to the unique Malayan sun bears. The zoo offers interactive close encounters with cheetahs, red pandas, big cats and giraffes among other daily activities.

Wellington Zoo is open 364 days a year, every day except Christmas Day, from 9.30am – 5.00pm (last entry 4.15pm).

Wellington Cable Car

The top of the iconic Wellington Cable Car presents a stunning view of Wellington city and Wellington harbour from the tranquil botanical garden.

The Cable Cars run every 10 minutes, Monday to Friday 7am to 10pm, Saturday 8:30am to 10pm, Sunday & Public Holidays 9am to 9pm (Closed Christmas Day)

Wellington Botanical Garden

The Wellington Botanical Garden is 25 hectares of unique landscape, native forest, specialised plants, rose gardens, walking trails and playing fields. This peaceful retreat is on the city’s doorstep to with breathtaking scenic views.

The Weta Cave

Visit the Weta Cave in Miramar, Wellington and take a behind-the-scenes look at Weta and interviews with Weta co-founders Peter Jackson, Richard Taylor, Tania Rodger and Jamie Selkirk. Plus come face to face with some of the characters, props and displays from your favourite movies in the mini-museum.
